Usually, celebrities maintain a certain distance from their social media pages. They’ll tweet or post things, but when it comes to actually responding to people, they shy away from it. This goes double for responding to assholes, the group that makes up at least half of every celebrity’s fan base. And why should they respond? First of all, they have better things to do, and secondly, the only real way that you can respond to “u fukin suck” is with a variation of “no, U suck!”

I don’t know if Rob Zombie runs his own Facebook page, but if it is him (And I hope it is. I value the mental image of Zombie’s dreadlocks falling on either side of the keyboard as he says aloud, “Oh, for Christ’s sake. Really?” way too much for it not to be him.), he is fed up with people making the most inane comments on the things he posts, and is willing to let his emotions be known in the most public space in the universe: Facebook. For example:

No.7 People who hate things

Here, Rob confronts the most widely seen form of Internet hatred: people who hate things, yet can’t help from participating in those things. I don’t know when a majority of the Iinternet decided “We should do the things that make us most unhappy!” but this guy has taken it upon himself to visit the Facebook page and declare Rob Zombie a “talentless douchebag,” which is like going to a Burger King solely to insult the employees about the food.

Rob Zombie Facebook

No.6 Best Buy???

There are about three places in the entire world left to buy physical media, and two of those places are used DVD stands in a Prestonsburg, Kentucky, flea market. This guy is insulted that rocker Rob Zombie would ever lower himself enough to visit corporate America’s shining bastion of technological wizardry, BEST BUY. I honestly don’t know what he expected. Is BEST BUY not dirty or grungy enough for Rob Zombie to sell his merchandise at? Does he wake up in cold sweats every night because Rob Zombie opens his wallet and rats don’t fall out?

Rob Zombie Facebook

No.5 Don’t buy things you already have!

Here, a man attempts to save the world from musicians by telling people, “Don’t buy things you already have!” It’s a genius, revolutionary tactic, an option that has never been explored before. For years, every time a CD from a band came out, people bought it without question, even if it had songs from earlier CDs on it. Why? People are cattle with brains that can’t handle logical reasoning. People have never flipped a CD over to read the track list on the back of it. Not even once. As we speak, a man is being crushed to death by all of his Michael Jackson CDs, compilations and tribute albums. And with his last breath, he’ll say, “Why didn’t I listen to Greg on Rob Zombie’s Facebook page….?”

Rob responds accordingly.

Rob Zombie Facebook

No.4 Shitting Yourself

I know that “shitting yourself” is the way that most people describe their high level of excitement nowadays, because nothing says anticipation like some pants full of poo. But I’d like to thank Rob for being pragmatic here, and seeing the real life ramifications of shitting yourself over an It remake. “And Pennywise is going to be played by David Tennant?!? I just can’t hold it in! PFFFBBBBBBBBTTTTTT (splat).”

Rob Zombie Facebook

No.3 It’s not like the old stuff

I know what Arron was going for here, but it’s bad to approach Zombie with anything close to the “It’s not like the old stuff” argument after his experience with the critics of Halloween, where many hoped that he would simply deliver a shot for shot remake of the classic. Better luck next time.

Rob Zombie Facebook

No.2 Metal vs. “Pop Rock Bullshit”

As all metal fans know, the most metal thing you can do is complain about something not being metal enough. Even though I’ve never really classified Zombie’s music as “metal,” more like “screaming Frankenstein monster being slowly crushed by a flaming Sheri Moon Zombie-shaped Munsters car” music.

Rob Zombie Facebook

No.1 Sucking Balls

And finally, my favorite response, in which Rob Zombie goes with the most effective, albeit the most juvenile, response. You talk about something sucking balls? You must suck balls. It’s not classy, but whatever. It’s Rob Zombie. If I wanted class, I’d go to Eli Roth’s Twitter.

Mark Deutrom, Former Melvins Bassist, To Release New Solo Album January 2019 /2018/12/25/mark-deutrom-melvins-bassist-release-solo-album-january-2019/ /2018/12/25/mark-deutrom-melvins-bassist-release-solo-album-january-2019/#respond Tue, 25 Dec 2018 05:16:04 +0000 https://www.yellmagazine.com/?p=124443 mark-deutrom-2018

Austin, Texas-based multi-instrumentalist, Mark Deutrom (Bellringer, ex-Melvins, Clown Alley), will release his highly anticipated new album, The Blue Bird, on January 4, 2019, through Season of Mist. Several pre-release singles and videos are now streaming, and pre-orders are available.

The first work under the Mark Deutrom name in almost six years, The Blue Bird is a full-album listening experience; it explores melody, space, nuance, and volume as it flows from track-to-track like a prismatic audio storybook. From the classic unconventional heaviness of tracks such as “The Happiness Machine” to the fever dream haziness of the “Somnambulist” through the moody “They Have Won,” Mark Deutrom moves from strength to strength without ever letting his foot off the gas. The Blue Bird is rock grandeur, oozing poise and purpose, and has all the hallmarks to be an abiding piece of heavy rock history.

Through 13 diverse tracks, The Blue Bird delivers over 50 minutes of intoxicating, surreal, and spellbinding rock, with Mark Deutrom performing vocal, guitar, bass, keyboards, and more. Bellringer’s live percussionist, RL Hulsman (Robert Plant, Nashville Pussy, Tarbox Ramblers), handles the drums for the album, with guest drums/percussion and vibraphone on “Hell Is a City” and drums/percussion on “They Have Won” by Aaron Lack, upright bass on “Hell Is a City” and “They Have Won” by G. Pat Harris, and alto saxophone on “They Have Won” by Joe Morales. The album was recorded at Estuary Recording Facility in Austin, produced by Mark Deutrom, engineered by Chico Jones, with mixing and additional engineering by Chad Bamford, and mastering and additional engineering by Bernd Heinrauch. The bandleader’s wife Jennifer Deutrom handled the album’s cover art, photography, and video creation.

Stream The Blue Bird‘s “The Happiness Machine” at Bandcamp https://markdeutrom.bandcamp.com/album/the-blue-bird, see the “Maximum Hemingway” official music video on this page, and stream “Nothing Out There” here .

Set for release on Friday, January 4th, The Blue Bird is being issued on CD, LP, and all digital platforms, with each format featuring a slightly different track listing and arrangement. Season of Mist also recently reissued Mark Deutrom’s back-catalog including The Silent Treatment, The Value of Decay, Brief Sensuality & Western Violence, and Bellringer on all platforms.

Find pre-order options for The Blue Bird and the reissued titles at the Season of Mist webshop https://shopusa.season-of-mist.com/catalogsearch/result/?q=mark+deutrom and through all digital providers.

Following the release of The Blue Bird, Mark Deutrom and the Bellringer live lineup featuring drummer RL Hulsman and bassist Brian Ramirez will tour in support of the album. Watch for live actions to be announced shortly.

Stew Hits Hard With A Throwback To Classic Blues Rock /2018/12/05/stew-hits-hard-throwback-classic-blues-rock/ /2018/12/05/stew-hits-hard-throwback-classic-blues-rock/#respond Wed, 05 Dec 2018 04:03:50 +0000 https://www.yellmagazine.com/?p=124369 stew hot

Stew (no, not beef and potatoes in a brown sauce) is a Swedish rock band, and if you’re craving something that is reminiscent of Stevie Ray Vaughan and Jimi Hendrix and filled with ‘70s era blues rock, then you’ll want to check them out. The band has a new four-track EP, Hot, which you can order now Stew’s Bandcamp page.

Stew said of the Hot EP:

This EP is a mix of classic rock, blues and soul! The four songs are heavy influenced by the late ‘60s and ‘70s era. With groovy riffs, strong vocals, and swinging drums! Classic yet modern.

Hot Track List:

1. Might Be Keeping You
2. If This Will Be The End
3. Tongue Tied
4. Dig For Gold

About Stew:

Stew is a Swedish power-trio that consists of Markus Åsland (bass/vocals), Nicklas Jansson (guitar), and Nicklas Dahlgren (drums). We got together in the beginning of 2017 and noticed quickly that we all were into the same kind of music and drew our influences from the late ‘60s and ‘70s era. We started jamming, wrote a few songs and booked some gigs. Everything went well, and then we made plans for the EP.

Fractal Cypher To Play Album Launch Show In January /2018/11/30/fractal-cypher-play-album-launch-show-january/ /2018/11/30/fractal-cypher-play-album-launch-show-january/#respond Sat, 01 Dec 2018 03:35:08 +0000 https://www.yellmagazine.com/?p=124350 fractal_cypher

Having released their four-song mini-album (isn’t that like an EP?) Prelude to an Impending Outcome, produced by Chris Donaldson (Cryptopsy, The Agonist, Beyond Creation) on November 8th, Montreal prog quartet, Fractal Cypher have already released the video for “From the Above and Beyond the Stars.” Now they’re sharing their new single, “The Grandeur of it All,” which you can hear here.

Although Fractal Cypher released Prelude to an Impending Outcome on November 8th, the band will be performing the official launch show on January 11th, in their hometown of Montreal.

If you like old-school prog metal, such as Dream Theater, then you should surely find some appreciation for Fractal Cypher.

Guitarist Vincent Bruneau commented:

‘The Grandeur of it All’ is definitely more energetic and straight forward, with back beats on drums, rock n roll riffs on guitars and catchy vocal lines in choruses and verses. There’s a ‘bluesy’ vibe in the song that is quite obvious all the way through, but we keep it progressive in terms of the song structure, dynamics and tempo changes. ‘Let’s have fun!’ is the mood of this song.

The band added:

‘Prelude to an Impending Outcome’ is a mini-album of four songs that are completely different from one to another to create a maximum roller coaster effect and make it non-linear and interesting to listen to. The clash of style is more important and more obvious than our previous album, but the songs have gained in maturity in term of songwriting and sound. The vibe of this mini-album is really more intimate, due to the lyrics and the overall ambiance/universe of the songs. The melodic side of the band is still really present, offering catchy vocal lines and outstanding solos all over the songs.

Order Prelude to an Impending Outcome from the band’s Bandcamp page.

Warning! You Probably Wouldn’t Want To Be Married To Sharon Osbourne /2018/11/02/warning-wouldnt-married-sharon-osbourne/ /2018/11/02/warning-wouldnt-married-sharon-osbourne/#respond Sat, 03 Nov 2018 03:54:56 +0000 https://www.yellmagazine.com/?p=124184 ozzy-sharon-osbourne-drugged 750

There are probably many reasons why you wouldn’t want to date Sharon Osbourne, but the leading one at this moment is the fact that she would dose someone with sleeping pills to try to coerce the truth from them. This is exactly what she has done to her husband, Ozzy Osbourne (in case you needed some clarification), to extract the truth about an extramarital affair.

As reported at msn.com, Sharon said:

I was a broken woman. He sent me an email that was meant for one of his women. Then he took his sleeping pills. I put an extra two in his drink … and asked him everything, and everything came out.

Yes, it is understandable that Sharon would want to know the truth and verify her suspicions. But drugging her husband cannot be condoned, and it’s surprising that there isn’t more outrage about this. No matter what the effect is on one’s emotional mind when faced with infidelity, approving of this act is akin to understanding an alcoholic for getting behind the wheel and killing someone because he/she was also out of his/her mind and didn’t know what he/she was doing. Neither can be forgiven.

This behavior and accepting it is appalling and seems to fly in the face of the #metoo movement. By the extreme precedents set by #metoo, Sharon Osbourne’s career should be in the trash; there’s no “he said, she said” crap here, she has reportedly flatout admitted it.

And, if Sharon was going to stand by Ozzy anyway, why would she even drug her husband?

Nobody is going to want to ask me out. Who would ask me out? A big-mouth, older woman? This is as good as it gets and I love him. He’s my husband and I have to take care of him and you just become this woman that takes care of this person and this is my life. This is what I do.

What do you think? Should Sharon Osbourne be punished in some way? Should there be some sort of repercussion on her career?

Anal Trump Exploit The Resident Chump On “The First 100 Songs” /2018/11/01/anal-trump-exploit-resident-chump-the-100-songs/ /2018/11/01/anal-trump-exploit-resident-chump-the-100-songs/#respond Fri, 02 Nov 2018 00:39:04 +0000 https://www.yellmagazine.com/?p=124171 anal-trump-first-100-songs-album-cover

Anal Trump, the San Diego-based “niche grindcore” outfit featuring Rob and Travis Trump, will release The First 100 Songs via Joyful Noise Recordings on Election Day (November 6th).

Rob Trump spoke with Decibel Magazine about the upcoming release, and offered a preview of the new tracks, saying:

Protest music is boring and usually created by folks that actually want people to pay attention to them instead of the problem. That’s why I created this thing from the point of view of the asshole…

There’s an obvious deferential tone to Anal Trump’s grindcore roots and satirical song titles, nodding heavily in the direction of forerunners Anal Cunt and that outfit’s founder, Seth Putnam.

The First 100 Songs was produced, recorded, mixed and mastered by Rob Trump, with the album boasting 100 songs in 11 minutes. The pair previously released seven EPs via Bandcamp, including That Makes Me Smart! and Make America Say Merry Christmas Again, donating 100% of the proceeds from those EPs to the ACLU, Planned Parenthood, and RAINN. The First 100 Songs includes those previously released EPs as well as an additional 30 songs. Tracks include titles coined by the man himself, including “I Like the Soldiers Who DON’T Get Captured” to creative interpretations such as “My Cabinet Is Nuanced as Shit” and onward to Putnam-esque bon mots like “Renewable Resources Are Gay,” there’s a smorgasbord of Trumpiliciousness!

According to Rob, their material has a universal appeal:

One of the things about this stuff is that, since most of it is taken right from his mouth or ideology, a Trumpster should be fine with it as much as a Bernie person would enjoy laughing at it. It’s just a mirror and that, in itself, is terrifying.

Pre-orders, which include a Drain the Swamp green vinyl version, are now available here. https://www.joyfulnoiserecordings.com/products/the-first-100-songs.

About Anal Trump:

The true identities of Rob and Travis Trump remain shrouded in mystery. Are they the unwanted bastard children of the Philanderer-in-Chief? Regular citizens transformed into angry mutants by the deluge of toxic waste spewing from the 45th President’s mouth? Or simply two dudes from high-profile San Diego musical acts who decided to pay tribute to grindcore pioneers, Anal Cunt, through the words of a man who embodies that band’s name? Whatever the origin of these mystery men, they found only one way to deal with the insanity happening in the political world: they became Anal Trump. As Rob puts it:

Protest music is boring, and once I got the idea, the potential seemed bottomless.

Anal Trump come from a rich tradition of politically-motivated extreme music. Grindcore’s origins date back to Margaret Thatcher’s Britain when a collective of teenage anarcho-punks decided to call themselves Napalm Death and throw thrash metal and hardcore punk in a blender set to “loudest” and “fastest.” Featuring songs as short as one second long and angry anti-corporate, anti-fascist messages, Napalm Death were the perfect marriage of subject and sound. Anal Cunt (commonly known as A.C. and AxCx), formed by the late Seth Putnam in 1988, took grind to the next level by reducing it to the lowest common denominator.

A.C. pushed the boundaries of good taste, from their music (which often resembled nothing of the sort) to their logo (which resembled the orifices in their name) to juvenile song titles like “Hitler Was a Sensitive Man,” “I Lit Your Baby on Fire,” and “Recycling is Gay.” It’s long been a source of debate whether they were serious or just being offensive for the shock value. Rob feels their appeal lies in that gray area:

They took hate so far beyond everything that all meaning seemed to invert at some point and back again so often that it became impossible to take seriously.

Whatever the intent, they succeeded in horrifying parents everywhere. Anal Trump have one distinct advantage over Seth Putnam’s trailblazing act: whereas Putnam and his collaborators had to come up with their own sleazy subject matter, Rob and Travis have a ready-made supply of parent-offending quotes straight from the Oval Office.

The First 100 Songs pays tribute to classic AxCx album titles like The 110 Song CD and 5643 Song EP. Produced, recorded, mixed, and mastered by Rob Trump, this boasts 100 songs in 11 minutes — their entire recorded output to date. From 2016’s pre-election That Makes Me Smart! EP all the way through the newer material contained in Thoughts, Prayers, and The Golden Age of Willful Ignorance, this truly exhaustive overview covers all the bases. With songs based on actual quotes by the man (“I Like the Soldiers Who DON’T Get Captured”) to creative interpretations (“My Cabinet Is Nuanced as Shit”) to Putnam-esque bon mots (“Renewable Resources Are Gay”), there’s a smorgasbord of Trumpiliciousness!

Rob and Travis Trump aren’t gonna fill your ears with talk of universal healthcare or equal voting rights or any of that socialist stuff — although they donated 100% of the proceeds from their EPs to non-profit organizations like the ACLU and Planned Parenthood. They just want to point out that the most powerful man in the world is a hate-mongering clown, using shrieks and micro-riffs as their chosen vehicle. Anal Trump will soon take this show on the road with help from Justin Trump on bass and John Putin on drums, but as for their future plans? “I just want this ugly chapter of human history to finally be over.”
