Los Angeles, California’s Armored Saint are set to release their seventh studio album next week. The album, Win Hands Down, is all things Armored, a vintage crush of classic power propelled by a cathartic blast of life in the year 2015. The album is scheduled for release on June 2nd in North America, with release dates for June 1st in Europe/UK, and May 29th in DE/CH/AT. Heavy metal giants Armored Saint have debuted a new track, “An Exercise in Debauchery,” from their forthcoming album, and first in five years, Win Hands Down. Listen to the new track here. The band has a storied past of breaking up and getting back together, and of lead vocalist John Bush doing a stint with Anthrax, but if the new track proves anything, it’s that Armored Saint is just as powerful and exciting as ever. But that speaks to the crushing high-power energy of the music, lyrically, Bush explains the song:

Michael Fassbender’s character in the movie Shame — along with certain members of society’s obsession with porn — was the catalyst for ‘An Exercise in Debauchery.’ That dark, twisted world that people fester in was good motivation for some ball busting. I mean, we all like sex, but no one’s that horny. Do your business and then move on. Read a book or something.

Wind Hands Down will be released June 2nd in North America, June 1st in Europe/UK, and May 29th in DE/CH/AT. Pre-orders for physical copies of the album can be made here and exclusive bundles are available here.

Armored Saint are also joining the legendary Saxon for a few select, high-profile shows across the country. Well, since we just informed you that Armored Saint would be joining Saxon on their Warriors of the Road Tour this May, we might as well tell you that Armored Saint will be releasing a new album this summer. Win Hands Down will be released on June 2nd, and it’s already being touted as one of the classic band’s heaviest yet, a crushing and epic tome that shows a stronger and tighter Armored Saint than ever before. Keep an eye on Yell! Magazine for art work, track listing, and new music.

John Bush (vocals) states:

When we began talking about a new record I told Joey Vera (bass) to pretend we were a really huge band and that we could do anything we wanted. At least that was the mindset we should have, from the writing to the production. What came out was Win Hands Down, which is our first record in five years. There’s everything from classic Armored Saint rocker songs to epic songs and we all dug deep to deliver something special. If we weren’t going to, then we shouldn’t have bothered. I’m glad we did. In May, we are doing some shows in the States with Saxon. It’s a great way to get the ball rolling.

Vera further comments:

We’re very excited about our new record coming out in June! We’ve been writing over the past year and half and we feel like we’ve written some amazing music. We can’t wait to share it! To get our whistle’s wet, we’re super excited about doing some warm up gigs before the record release with the legendary Saxon this May! We’re doing a total of six shows between the East Coast, Texas, West Coast and we couldn’t think of a better way to start off the summer! See you all soon.

Saxon kicked off 2015 with the re-release of two classic collections, each covering significant career highlights as well as offering something new in their 2015 versions. The re-release of their greatest hits album, Heavy Metal Thunder, made its market re-entry together with a brand new bonus CD, Live At Bloodstock, in addition to re-issue of The Saxon Chronicles, a double-disc DVD that now also includes a bonus CD titled Rock’n’Roll Gypsies 1989 Live.

Now, Saxon is making another big announcement for this spring – the British heavy metal legends will embark on a nine-date U.S. tour, dubbed the Warriors of the Road tour, beginning in May. The run includes support from Armored Saint on most dates, and also includes select one-off dates with Judas Priest. The tour kicks off in New York City at BB Kings on May 12th, and features a stop at Rock On The Range. The tour closes in Los Angeles, California, at the House of Blues on May 30th.

“We’re looking forward to the U.S. tour in May,” states vocalist Biff Byford. “We’ll be playing some shows with the mighty Judas Priest and with Armored Saint. The last time we toured with them was 1981, I think. Rock On The Range looks like a great line-up too – I can’t wait to get on stage and fill your heads with Heavy Metal Thunder! Bring it on!”

In July, we held a poll asking fans to choose their favorite Saint songs and we compiled a list of the top 10. At recent gigs in Los Angeles and in Germany, we would allow fans to come up and choose one of the top 10 songs for us to play, right there on the spot. We did this 3 times during our set. It was such a good time that we’re going to do this again for our tri-state shows. John Bush will stop the show at 3 different times and choose someone from the crowd to come up and pick what song we play next. So come down and be a part of choosing our set list for the night!
