As usual, Ash unleashes his trademark chainsaw-slicing and shotgun-blasting blasting skills throughout Season 2, so you won’t be disappointed.

This season roars back into action with Ash leaving his beloved Jacksonville and returning to his home town of Elk Grove. There, he confronts Ruby, only to find that she too is now a victim of evil and in need of Ash’s help. The former enemies have to form an uneasy alliance to give them a chance of success as Elk Grove soon becomes the nucleus of evil.

Ash vs Evil Dead: Season 2 includes audio commentaries, eight behind-the-scenes featurettes, and a “Fatality Mash-Up.” Ash vs Evil Dead: Season 2 will be available on Blu-ray and DVD on August 22 for the suggested retail price of $43.99 and $34.98, respectively.

Ash vs Evil Dead”: Season 2

First off, if you missed the character teasers for season 2 a few weeks ago, then you should take a peek at them for curiosity’s sake since they’re really cool. Ash and the rest of members are looking sharp as usual. Second, STARZ has revealed the titles and descriptions for the first two episodes of the second season. Episode 201: “Home” – PREMIERES SUNDAY, OCTOBER 2nd at 8:00pm ET/PT
The party in Jacksonville is over when Ash, Pablo, and Kelly are summoned by Ruby back to Ash’s hometown to form an unlikely alliance. Ash’s dad Brock, and the local pub rats give a chilly welcome to the man who’s come to save them from evil.

Episode 202: “The Morgue”– PREMIERES SUNDAY, OCTOBER 9th at 8:00pm ET/PT
Pablo’s grasp on reality is tested when Ruby reveals the Necronomicon has gifted him with premonitions. Meanwhile, in the morgue, Ash and Kelly discover Brock’s date might not be the warm body he’s banking on.

And we’re back with another bad-ass episode of Ash vs Evil Dead, folks! This one was a little more mild than what we’ve seen since the premiere, and right off the bat we got a recap of what has happened till now.

Cut to the current events, and we see a sexy red Hemi Dodge Challenger roaring down the country roads. When it comes to a stop, we see someone get out, but we’re only teased with what appears to be women’s boots. This is the debut of Lucy Lawless‘ character in the series. Seems that she’s been chasing Ash for some time because she unearths the late father of Kelly from the last episode, and she ends up interrogating and torturing the demonic dad. She pulls out a mysterious blade and appears to cut the face of the deadite dad and his face melts. I don’t know what the purpose of this was, but I’m sure we’ll find out soon.

A little change of scene, and we’re with Ash and the crew at the Books from Beyond bookstore. Ash wants to find out how he can reverse the summoned forces of evil, and they come up with the idea of summoning another demon in order to find out how. Things just keep getting worse for Ash as he’s told not to break the circle in which the demon is being held. This was only caused by Amanda, who is investigating the recent murders. She’s being held captive by Kelly while Ash and Pablo summon the demon with the help of the bookstore owner, Lionel.

So, of course, as mentioned earlier, Ash breaks the sandy circle holding the summoned demon. Questioning the demon proved to be a waste of time. After fighting off the demon to no avail, losing Lionel to a rather glassy incident, Kelly smacks the demon in the head with the Necronomicon and banishes the demon.

So, a rather interesting episode from what I gathered. We learned about the history of the book, or rather reminded again since it was mentioned briefly in the Evil Dead movies.

What’s to take from this episode? What will become of Ruby played by Lucy Lawless and her mysterious dagger?

We’ll have to wait to see this Saturday on Starz @ 9 p.m. E/CT.

Once again, Ash vs Evil Dead brought the boomstick, and this time more blood and guts as well. Within the first few minutes, we were treated to a fight with a “deadite” in Ash’s legendary 1973 Oldsmobile Delta 88. If you remember in last week’s “El Jefe” episode, as Ash was leaving work, his boss was caught by “The Force” and turned into a deadite. Well, it made for quite the entertaining gore scene in Ash’s car as he tried to keep his deadite boss from eating him. After struggling for a minute, he shoved the deadite out of the driver’s side window for his head to ultimately be smashed on a passing windshield, which brought in the CGI blood and the Ash vs Evil Dead title screen. Awesome intro!

Now, let’s get to the plot of this episode, shall we?

And let’s talk about Kelly and Pablo who were begging Ash to go with Kelly to help her father. If you were able to view “El Jefe” last week, you may remember the facetime chat that Kelly had with her father, who is terrified because apparently her dead mother walked through the front door. As Ash was harnessing his trailer to his Oldsmobile, he saw Kelly driving off on Pablo’s motorcycle with Pablo chasing after her. He tells Ash that she took the Necronomicon, the book of the dead. Ash didn’t want to help, but now he’s been forced to lend a hand if he wants to get his book back. This is what leads to the intro scene as explained above.

Upon arriving at Kelly’s house, we could see that both of her parents were fine. However, Ash still believes that something is wrong. He questioned whether or not Kelly’s mother was a deadite, and everyone thought he was wrong to believe so. If you remember from the classic Evil Dead films, Ash can be a complete dick at times. Well, this episode was one of those times. Ash was a complete asshole to Kelly’s mother, questioning her constantly until he finally just punches her in the face.

This moment ultimately causes her to turn to her deadite form and ends up shoving a fork through her husband’s face and killing him. A nice fight breaks out between Ash with his chainsaw hand and his boomstick, and this ugly ass deadite. After all is said and done, the battle is won… for now. The characters bury the dead, and some discussions take place on what to do next. I will leave you with the funniest line of the episode though. In regard to the graves they dug, Kelly says to Ash, “You know they were Jewish, right?” Ash replies, “I… I did not. Wish you could’ve said something before I made those dumb crosses, but… OK!”

So what do you think will come of next week? A teaser for next week’s episode was shown and it will bring the debut of Lucy Lawless as Ruby. As you all know, Lucy Lawless was famous for her role as Zena in Zena: Warrior Princess during the late ’90s. Well… Groovy!

Well, it’s finally happened! Ash vs Evil Dead finally hit the air on Starz this past Saturday. This bad-ass horror series has been advertised regularly for the past year at least. and we couldn’t have been teased any more with still shots from the series, as well as kick-ass trailers to get us in the mood. With all the hype, it’s a good thing that series opener, “El Jefe,” brought the “boom stick!”

The premiere didn’t take long to get you right into the groove of things, and within the first five minutes, we got a quick glimpse of the “deadites.” This was a nickname that Bruce Campbell‘s character, Ash Williams, comes up with in the classic Evil Dead films. Ash vs Evil Dead was quick to remind you of the humor behind the classics, giving us some quick laughs in the intro as well as the sex scene in the bar bathroom.

A little back story for the series: Ash is working at an electronics store, not S-Mart, which is a disappointment, of course. Hopefully you get my drift on that one. It’s been 30 years in his character’s lifetime since the films and he accidentally summons the deadites… again. Starring alongside Bruce is Ray Santiago from Meet the Fockers and Accepted, and the hot Dana DeLorenzo from A Very Harold and Kumar 3D Christmas. As always, Bruce is a sexual and very straightforward kind of guy with Kelly (Dana), even though Ray (Pablo) has a crush on her.

Bruce is trying to avoid the deadites and realizes he needs to skip town before they come for him. After all, he knows it’s his fault. It doesn’t take long before Pablo and Kelly have to come to him for help and from there on it’s nonstop bad-ass fighting, with the legendary boom stick and, of course, the classic chainsaw hand. What? You haven’t seen a man with a chainsaw for a hand before? Though this was a 40-minute episode, it was quick to get you into the action. It was short and sweet, with slapstick humor and a quick background behind the recent occurrences. This folks, is going to be a series for the ages.

Fans of Sam Raimi’s Evil Dead series will be extremely happy to hear that Starz has officially renewed Ash vs Evil Dead for a second season. Ahead of its worldwide debut on Halloween, the TV series has generated enough fan and press support to convince the network to move forward with season two, which will further continue the adventure of Ash Williams played by the legendary Bruce Campbell.

With a new licensing agreement in place with broadcasters and digital platforms representing more than 100 countries and territories worldwide, the very first episode of Ash vs Evil Dead is going global on October 31, 2015. This officially means over 100 countries will debut the long-awaited follow-up to the classic horror film The Evil Dead.
