Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice hits theaters on March 25, 2016. In the meantime, check this teaser out!
]]>A few new pictures from the set of Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice have rolled in. There’s nothing exceptionally exciting about them, but they do show Henry Cavill as Clark Kent outside the Gotham City jail. Wonder who he was visiting or what the story is that sharp reporter is working on. The pics appeared yesterday via HenryCavillNews and Bananadoc.

]]>The casting for the yet untitled Man of Steel sequel, affectionately called Batman vs. Superman, has been plagued by criticism from a bunch of butthurt fans claiming that Ben Affleck is a poor choice for Batman or that Gal Gadot is not an acceptable Wonder Woman. Well, get ready for more nonsense with the latest casting news.
I predict that fans will be accepting of Jeremy Irons (Dungeons & Dragons, The Man in the Iron Mask, Die Hard: With a Vengeance) as Alfred, but they’ll raise hell about Jesse Eisenberg (Zombieland, The Social Network) being cast as Lex Luthor.
Jesse Eisenberg will star as Lex Luthor with Jeremy Irons as Alfred in Zack Snyder’s untitled Man Of Steel sequel, according to Warner Bros. Pictures, who announced the news today. The thing is, after reading Zack Snyder’s statement below, you can kind of see how Jesse’s role as Mark Zuckerberg in The Social Network sets him up as a perfect and ruthless villain like Lex.
Henry Cavill will, obviously, reprise his role as Superman/Clark Kent, and other returning stars include Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, and Diane Lane.
Regarding the casting news, director Zack Snyder released the following statements:
Lex Luthor is often considered the most notorious of Superman’s rivals, his unsavory reputation preceding him since 1940. What’s great about Lex is that he exists beyond the confines of the stereotypical nefarious villain. He’s a complicated and sophisticated character whose intellect, wealth and prominence position him as one of the few mortals able to challenge the incredible might of Superman. Having Jesse in the role allows us to explore that interesting dynamic, and also take the character in some new and unexpected directions.
As everyone knows, Alfred is Bruce Wayne’s most trusted friend, ally and mentor, a noble guardian and father figure. He is an absolutely critical element in the intricate infrastructure that allows Bruce Wayne to transform himself into Batman. It is an honor to have such an amazingly seasoned and gifted actor as Jeremy taking on the important role of the man who mentors and guides the guarded and nearly impervious façade that encapsulates Bruce Wayne.
Earlier this month Warner Bros. announced that the release date of Batman vs. Superman has been pushed back; instead of coming out in 2015, it’s scheduled for release on May 6, 2016.

]]>Earlier this week, Warner Bros. (WB) registered several titles that could lead to a new title for the Batman vs. Superman or World’s Finest movie. WB used MarkMonitor to register the names, and the company is the same WB uses for warnerbros.com and it’s the registrar for the SupermanvsBatman.com domain.
In addition to a long list of domains, Fusible stated:
There’s been a lot of debate over the official title of the upcoming Batman vs. Superman film scheduled to be released in 2015… Now, it’s likely the debate is going to get more opinions. According to the latest domain registrations, possible titles include Man of Steel Battle the Knight, Man of Steel Beyond Darkness, Man of Steel Black of Knight, Man of Steel Darkness Falls, Man of Steel Knight Falls, Man of Steel Shadow of the Night, Man of Steel The Blackest Hour, and Man of Steel The Darknness Within.
Shorter variations of the names were also registered like, Battle the Knight, Black of Knight, Knight Falls, and The Blackest Hour.
Those shorter options seem a little Batman-centric, and thus, suck.
I encourage you to debate over which one is best or to suggest one of your own, but my money is on WB covering bases and protecting their options.
The Man of Steel sequel is scheduled to hit theaters on July 17, 2015. The film will star Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Amy Adams, Diane Lane, and Laurence Fishburne.

]]>Just about everyone with an Internet connection is pissing all over the August 22nd casting news of Ben Affleck portraying Batman in the forthcoming Man of Steel sequel, Batman vs. Superman. (Even King Hazard took a jab.)However, Warner Bros. CEO Kevin Tsujihara stated to Variety that Affleck is “perfect” for the part and that the WB consensus is that “it’s going to be huge.”
Tsujihara went on to say that “it’s the perfect springboard for Batman and Superman” and that “Ben is perfect for the vision Zack [Snyder] has for that character,” which is a “tired and weary and seasoned [Batman who has] been doing it for awhile.”
I’m sure that I’m not the only one drawing similarities, but that sounds an awful lot like Frank Miller’s graphic novel, Batman: The Dark Knight Returns. While Miller has no official writing credit on IMDB, iO9.com has reported that he will informally be consulted by Snyder.
Affleck will star alongside the latest Superman, Henry Cavill, and Batman vs. Superman is expected to hit theaters in July 2015. Let’s hope this marks the beginning for DC success with an ensemble cast.
Yell! at us below about your thoughts on Affleck being cast as the new Batman.
