Ahead of its theatrical release in May, Magnet Releasing has dropped a new trailer for Ben Wheatley’s gripping thriller, High-Rise. A trailer which teases stylish cocktail parties, violence, and best of all, a closer look at Tom Hiddleston as Dr. Robert Laing. The resident of a luxurious apartment in a high-tech concrete skyscraper whose lofty location places him amongst the upper class.

The unnerving tale of life in a modern tower block running out of control. Within the concealing walls of an elegant forty-storey tower block, the affluent tenants are hell-bent on an orgy of destruction. Cocktail parties degenerate into marauding attacks on ‘enemy’ floors and the once-luxurious amenities become an arena for technological mayhem…In this classic visionary tale, human society slips into violent reverse as the inhabitants of the high-rise, driven by primal urges, recreate a world ruled by the laws of the jungle.

The film was directed by Wheatley based of the J. G. Ballard’s brilliant novel of the same name. High-Rise was adapted for the screen by Amy Jump, which stars Hiddleston, Jeremy Irons, Sienna Miller, Luke Evans, and Elizabeth Moss.

New Images And Poster Revealed For Ben Wheatley’s High-Rise

In Ben Wheatley’s upcoming High-Rise, the film “chronicles the savage breakdown of social order inside a giant residential apartment block.” Based on J.G. Ballard’s seminal 1975 sci-fi novel of the same name, High-Rise world-premiered at the 2015 Toronto International Film Festival in September to positive reviews. Tim Robey of The Telegraph awarded it 4 out of 5 stars, praising the brutality and dark comedy.

Ahead of its theatrical release later this year from Magnet Releasing, a fresh batch of images and new official poster have been released to give fans a tease on what’s to come in High-Rise.

The film stars Tom Hiddleston (Crimson Peak), Jeremy Irons (Batman v Superman), Sienna Miller (American Sniper), Luke Evans (Dracula Untold) and Elizabeth Moss (Mad Max).

Ben Wheatley’s new film High-Rise based on the dark and disturbing 1975 novel of the same name by J.G. Ballard was just acquired by Magnet Releasing for US distribution. Starring Tom Hiddleston, Sienna Miller, and Luke Evans, the highly-anticipated film chronicles the savage breakdown of social order inside a giant residential apartment block.

Wheatley said,

I’m very excited about working with Magnet again. They have the brains and the balls to handle the crazy beast that is HIGH-RISE.

High-Rise received its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, and its European premiere at the 63rd San Sebastián Film Festival in September 2015. It was very well received by IGN, The Telegraph, and Kate Wilson of Varsity gave the film a 5 star review calling it a “masterpiece”.

The film hits theaters in 2016.
