Alongside the gory display of the new track, Decibel issues:

You can throw most extreme two-word combinations together and likely describe brief Sloth Herder passages: Gutter grind. Bummer sludge. Dissonant death. Jagged noise. Power-slob. Blackened whatever. But No Pity, No Sunrise is still a cohesive roar of discontent.

Sloth Herder’s No Pity, No Sunrise presents a monstrous, 14-track attack in just over 35 minutes delivered by vocalist Josh Lyon, bassist Luke Ibach, drummer Sean Wilhide, and guitarist Nick Craggs, and additional sounds by Ryan Neal. An unhinged surge of extreme metal that will appeal to a wide range of acts, from Antigama to Pyrrhon, Yautja to Gaza. No Pity, No Sunrise was recorded, mixed, and mastered by Noel Mueller in the fall of 2016.

On March 18th, via Test Your Metal Records, extreme metal outfit Rapheumets Well will release their second full-length, the bigger-than-themselves The Exile. You can stream the entire album right now over at nefariousrealm.com.

Now, I say that the album is bigger than the band itself, because there is so much going on musically, from death metal to symphonic metal to operatic vocal support to contemporary classical to progressive metal ideas to middle eastern sounds and much more. If you have patience, however, it will all work for you.

Also, the concept of the album is huge. Learn more from drummer Joshua Ward, who commented on the album:

Our album, The Exile, we felt was an alluring story following our release of Dimensions due to its more personal nature. The story, while taking place on a distant planet, follows the journey of Darmak Ildna, a military commander from the Sunak Empire. A malevolent deity of sorts lands on the planet and enforces his mandate. We wrote this album to reflect this journey. From flesh-eating gates and alien invasions to time and space being ripped and the protagonist getting his skin peeled from his bones, it needed a amalgamation of brutal riffing with cosmic soundscapes to portray this. We were able to record and master this ourselves so we are very happy with all the work we have done. Thanks to Test Your Metal Records, we have a medium to share our creation.

Pre-order the album here for CD and here for digital.

About Abnormality:

Formed in 2005, Abnormality drew its members from the ranks of units such as Teratism, Forced Asphyxiation, Goratory, and Sexcrement, and they have worked patiently and persistently to build up a grassroots following, maintaining their integrity while steadily expanding beyond their local scene. In 2010, they dropped their debut EP, The Collective Calm in Mortal Oblivion, which immediately drew attention in the underground, followed by the crushing and critically acclaimed full-length, Contaminating the Hive Mind (2012), cementing their status as one of the heaviest and most dynamic bands in the genre. Now, with their upcoming sophomore effort, Mechanisms of Omniscience — produced once again by Peter Rutcho, and featuring artwork by vocalist Mallika Sundaramurthy — the quintet have never been more serious about getting their message out there, as well as ensuring legions of the moshing masses incur whiplash. See below for the official track-listing!

The band has today begun streaming their second single, “Open Graves,” from their upcoming EP Bloodlust through Bravewords. But we snagged it from YouTube for you to play in the player above.

The song unravels the concept of believing in God and heaven concepts. “Open Graves” talks about how the inevitable will consume all living things and we will end up as rotting corpses.

“We’re really excited to be voted on Armstrong Metal Festival. It was a personal goal the band play Armstrong this year, and we couldn’t have done it without all the fan support. Camping and music – what better way to spend a weekend.” – Parker, Vocals

Don’t Miss This! The Mountain Man Give An Exclusive Free Tack Download For “Bloodlust” https://www.yellmagazine.com/mountain-men-bloodlust-free-download/106549/ https://www.yellmagazine.com/mountain-men-bloodlust-free-download/106549/#respond Thu, 18 Feb 2016 00:33:04 +0000 https://www.yellmagazine.com/?p=106549 the mountain men

When I first read this band’s name and then read that they hailed from the rugged Canadian province of British Columbia, I thought to myself, “Could this band have chosen a better name for themselves?” Unequivocally, my answer is, “No way!”

But that short nerdy moment of mine was short-lived once I hit play to hear The Mountain Man and their brand new single, “Bloodlust,” which is making its world debut right here on Yell! Magazine. We couldn’t be more proud. And not just because the track is making its premiere with us, but also because we get to offer you a free download of it, courtesy of the fine folks at Asher Media. Just follow the links in the Soundcloud player below to get your free download of “Bloodlust.”

From start to finish, “Bloodlust” is a brutal onslaught of pure, bombastic adrenaline and brutality with guttural, growly vocals, soul-shredding bass, blood-curdling guitar licks, and waves of crashing, whiplash-inducing percussion.

Yes, this is absolutely what Bigfoot or the Sasquatch listens to.

mountain_men_promo_2016

As The Mountain Man’s bio states, “this band is all Canadian; celebrating camping, plaid, beer, and, above all else, energetic metal. Parker (ex-Brauheist) gets straight to the point with his raw, gruff vocals and lyrics filled with animosity that cut through the instruments like an unyielding ax. Each song is like a hand-drawn map guiding fans through the British Columbian wilderness. While the first half is complete, the second half is up to the listener to build their own path and take what they will from each track.

The band developed their sound from listening to groups like The Black Dahlia Murder, Crowbar, Gojira, Lamb of God, and Black Sabbath, taking to heart the importance of dedicating their lives to their craft. Tevyn Pacey (bass), Ryan McCreedy (drums), Parker (vocals), Tyson Tambellini (rhythm guitar), and Jordan Orr (lead guitar) are like woodsmen secluded from civilization with nothing but their instruments to craft doomy, yet frantic metal. They harness a variety of metal genres and bend them to their will.

The Mountain Man are releasing their debut EP, Bloodlust, on Friday, March 25, 2016. The five song EP is purposefully open-ended so that listeners can interpret each song and find meaning for themselves.

Scientist Release The Intense “Physicial Heal Thyself” https://www.yellmagazine.com/scientist-physician-heal-thyself/105363/ https://www.yellmagazine.com/scientist-physician-heal-thyself/105363/#respond Fri, 04 Dec 2015 01:16:13 +0000 https://www.yellmagazine.com/?p=105363 scientist_2015_promo

The top of the track is a bit strange, almost invoking some sort of avant-garde jazz-infused metalcore (a genre which this is not). But just a few short moments later it turns into a cathartic purging so visceral you’ll want to scream along with guest vocalist Patrick Auclair (ex Taken By The Sun).

Today, Chicago-based metal act, Scientist, have revealed the latest track from their forthcoming album, 10100II00101. Head on over to Cvlt Nation to stream the new song, “Physician Heal Thyself.”

10100II00101 will be released on CD and digitally via the band’s official BandCamp page on December 11, 2015, and on double LP via Hell Comes Home Records at a later date.

About the album, Scientist’s founding guitarist/vocalist Eric Plonka (ex Yakuza) says:

Stavros recorded his vocals at home and turned them in on the deadline date. True to form, we didn’t hear his parts until the CD was finished! It’s one of our more cryptic undertakings with fuzz jutted guitars, crunchy bass and interestingly strange drum patterns. It’s built around the concept of this: before attempting to correct others, make sure that you aren’t guilty of the same faults.

10100II00101 is Scientist’s 11 track follow-up to their lauded self-titled debut. Tracked at Minbal Studio, engineered by Sanford Parker (Minsk, Corrections House, Buried At Sea) and mastered by Collin Jordan (Eyehategod, Indian, Wovenhand, Voivod, etc.) at The Boiler Room, the eclectic production boasts a variety of guest vocal appearances Andre Almarez of Pale Horseman, Anthony Cwan of Without Waves, and James Clayton Bowman, as well as a lap slide guitar cameo from Jeff Lyman of Dance Bullies.

As a precursor to its official unveiling, the band will play a special record release show on their home turf alongside Yakuza, Sanford Parker’s Two From the Eye and Mars Williams’ (The Psychedelic Furs) XmarsX this Saturday at The Empty Bottle in Chicago with additional live exhibitions in their plotting stages.
