Josh Barnett, 39, has recently been flagged by USADA and is facing a UFC anti-doping violation. The former UFC heavyweight champion has been tested over 10 times this year. Earlier this month, Barnett tested positive for a banned substance, which at the moment has been disclosed by the UFC.

The American mixed martial artist has had a history of failed drug tests, dating back to 2001 and most famously known for falling a drug test in 2009 when he was supposed to face Fedor Emelianenko at Affliction: Trilogy.

USADA will run the adjudication process and determine Barnett’s sanction in the not too distant future.

For the main event, former UFC heavyweight champions Andrei Arlovski and Josh Barnett have to make a limit of 265 pounds. The co-main event features a light heavyweight bout between Alexander Gustafsson and Jan Blachowicz, both of whom will have to make a limit of 205 pounds.

Fans of MMA and sci-fi horror will be happy to hear the highly-anticipated third installment in the Sharknado film series will combine a very familiar face from one world to the other.

Since December 2013, MMA veteran Josh Barnett has taken a small break from fighting inside the cage to focus on his acting career. However, don’t expect Barnett to completely give up MMA and land a huge role alongside Tom Cruise or Brad Pitt anytime soon. I’d suggest you start associating him with B-movies first, something along the lines of Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No!. According to an NBC Universal representative, Barnett will play the role of Sgt. Richards, who helps fight off incoming Sharknados.

There’s no official word out yet on how many minutes of screen time he will have in Sharknado 3, but I’m pretty sure will see him blast away a few sharks before he gets shredded into pieces.

It looks like the UFC is trying to put together an epic year-end fight card with the addition of a new heavyweight matchup for UFC 168, which is scheduled for December 28, 2013, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

So far the main card features two championship fights that will headline a monumental rematch between UFC Middleweight Champion Chris Weidman (10-0) and No. 1 pound-for-pound MMA fighter in the world Anderson Silva (33-5). The co-main event will also feature a rematch between UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey (7-0) and former STRIKEFORCE Champion Miesha Tate (13-4). Both are coaching on the current season of The Ultimate Fighter on FOX Sports 1.

Now, we’ve just learned that Josh Barnett (33-6) and Travis Browne (15–1–1) will face each other in a heavyweight bout that is destined to end in a knockout. Both fighters are coming off exciting wins over top contenders. Barnett defeated Frank Mir by TKO in his debut return to the UFC, and Browne survived a flurry of strikes from Alistair Overeem, then knocked him out with a front kick and punches in August. It earned Browne the Knockout of the Night bonus award.
