Produced by Kris Hilbert (The Body), who worked with the band on The Red Sect and mixed and mastered by Joel Grind (Toxic Holocaust), The Grave Alchemist will see a worldwide release on April 14th. Featuring 12 driving, raucous blackened thrash hymns, the album reveals a marked maturity and growth for these Asheville natives who previously wore their punk rock roots on their proverbial sleeves. The album is a narrative-driven horror concept album that weaves a tale of alchemy, necromancy, and vampirism over the span of three centuries. It is a potent blend of violence, mysticism, psychology, and the occult, distilled into an aural elixir of blood and gold.

The Grave Alchemist will see worldwide release via Prosthetic Records on CD, LP, and digital formats. Pre-orders are available here.

About All Hell:

Spawned in the dark hills of Asheville, North Carolina, in 2013, and influenced by a wide array of genres from punk to thrash to “first wave” black metal to ‘80s deathrock and beyond, All Hell has relentlessly churned out their stygian works while spreading their volatile live show to eager audiences.

All_Hell_Grave_Alchemist_album_cover

All Hell self-released their debut, The Devil’s Work, in 2014, and played with bands such as 1349, Black Tusk, Ghoul, and labelmates, Skeletonwitch. A year later, All Hell released their second offering, The Red Sect, which was released through HPGD Productions. No Clean Singing called the album, “A thoroughly electrifying romp; a ripping rampage of thrashing riffs, punk rhythms, and mad-dog snarls. Hooky as hell and as nasty as a famished wolverine.” Prosthetic Records soon signed the band and reissued the album on LP and CD worldwide. The band hit the road in support of that album, sharing the stage with the likes of Venom Inc., Toxic Holocaust, Lord Dying, Ramming Speed, Horrendous, and many more.

With the release of The Grave Alchemist, All Hell has expanded their sound while infusing different elements to create a unique blend all their own. Fans of Bathory, Celtic Frost, Samhain, Satyricon, Skeletonwitch, Goatwhore, Toxic Holocaust and the like, pay heed.

All Hell will bring their deviousness to the stage for a short run of live dates this spring with additional live incursions in the plotting stages.

Koffin Kats Give Detroit A Boost https://www.yellmagazine.com/koffin-kats-give-detroit-boost/66870/ https://www.yellmagazine.com/koffin-kats-give-detroit-boost/66870/#respond Sun, 08 Sep 2013 16:00:49 +0000 https://www.yellmagazine.com/?p=66870 With Detroit declaring bankruptcy earlier this summer, the Motor City needs all the help it can get. So, thank the metal gods for Metallica’s Orion Music + More festival and the Koffin Kats — maybe Ted Nugent, “Detroit Rock City,” and Battlecross too.

The Koffin Kats recently returned Stateside after a three-month stint in Europe, and the rockabilly punkers are proud to announce the October 22nd release of their seventh studio album, Born of Motor. In anticipation of the release, the Kats have made the title track available, which can be heard via the video above. One listen and you can tell that this is truly an American celebration of our love of the automobile and the workmanship behind it.

From the press release:

With Born Of The Motor, The Koffin Kats continue their classic storytelling style, but with their most real, most personal lyrics to date. “Life is hard… life is uncertain – that’s something everyone understands. It’s not where you start or where you end up, it’s how you LIVE your life in between that matters,” says vocalist Vic Victor.

Both a sonic homage to their resident city and its blue-collar legacy, and a metaphor for being hard-wired towards hard work and persistent ambition, The Koffin Kats charge forward waving a proud flag soiled with blood, sweat, and whiskey—defying the decay and chaos that has stained their city in recent years.

Loyal Koffin Kats fans will be satiated with Born Of The Motor just as new fans will be enticed by the majesty of their rock ‘n’ roll prowess.

Recorded at Stu Stu Studios in Livonia, Michigan, and mastered by Adam Ayan (Foo Fighters, Nirvana, Rolling Stones), Born Of The Motor is poised to drive the Koffin Kats to new distances with speed, power, and hell-raising fun.

Born of the Motor track list:

1. All Of Me Is Gone
2. Under A Blue Sky
3. Giving Blood
4. Born Of The Motor
5. Devil Tales
6. The Collector
7. This Heart (Stays On Ice)
8. Twist Apart
9. The Team
10. Goodbye Blues
11. It’s Real
12. Gone To See The World

Transplants Played Amnesia Rockfest – Stream In A Warzone

The Transplants — featuring Rancid’s Tim Armstrong, Blink-182’s Travis Barker, and Death March’s “Skinhead Rob” Aston — impressed fans at the urine soaked Amnesia Rockfest in Montebello, Quebec, and today they’re streaming their new album, In A Warzone, at Rollingstone.com.

The album is a mix of various punk genres, just like its members, but it all coalesces and ends up sounding like pure old-school punk (except for the hip-hop-inspired “Something’s Different”). If you like what you hear, look for it to hit the streets June 25th.

“When we started this band 13 years ago, we weren’t worried about who was going to like us,” states frontman Rob Aston. “We still aren’t. In A Warzone is more raw and stripped down than our previous releases. In my opinion, it’s our best album. It’s always been difficult to classify Transplants. But at the end of the day, we’re a punk rock band. We make whatever type of music we want.”

It doesn’t get any more punk rock than that (well, it does, but who gives a fuck).

The Transplants are currently on the road in North American opening for Rancid. Tim Armstrong is playing with both bands.

Transplants tour dates:

June 17 – Boston @ House of Blues
June 19 – Silver Springs, MD @ The Fillmore
June 20 & 21 – New York, NY @ Terminal 5
June 22 – Philadelphia, PA @ Electric Factory

The Greenery Premiere “Reapers Keeper” – Don’t Break Your Neck https://www.yellmagazine.com/greenery-its-looking-grim-reapers-keeper/55171/ https://www.yellmagazine.com/greenery-its-looking-grim-reapers-keeper/55171/#respond Tue, 30 Apr 2013 13:21:29 +0000 https://www.yellmagazine.com/?p=55171 the greeneryCombining elements of Black Sabbath, Megadeth, and Rage Against the Machine, Long Beach-based The Greenery offer a thrash/punk assault on your senses with the first track, “Reapers Keeper,” from their forthcoming album, It’s Looking Grim.

While we’re offering an edited version of the album cover, you can check out the NSFW version at thegreenerylbc.com.

On It’s Looking Grim, The Greenery vocalist Matt Lanners said,

“After enduring countless miles driven in three vans, dealing with busted trailers and blown transmissions, and surviving off of cup o’ noodles to cure our severe hangovers, we’ve officially finished our sophomore album at Buzzbomb Sound Lab with our Scotch-loving producer, Paul Miner. It’s been quite the journey coming back from being so implausibly broke (due to the road being a cruel mistress), however, there’s never been a moment of giving in to the hard times. We are indebted to our loyal fans/friends for the self-released and funded album that we are about to release; it is our thanks to you being there with us in every sweaty and grimy venue… head banging.”

Although The Greenery released their debut album, Spit & Argue, with Prosthetic Records, the band will be taking a completely different approach for their follow-up, It’s Looking Grim, by self-releasing it and bypassing labels all together, delivering the music straight to the fans.

“Why no label?” Lanners asks rhetorically. “Well, honestly, we left our previous label on amazing terms and are still great friends with them, however, we felt this project was our baby and we wanted to do this record on our terms. So, we got jobs and funded our own album, like grown ass men-children. Be prepared for the most angry, vulgar, and pissed-off release The Greenery has delivered to date, ’cause we couldn’t be happier with the outcome. We’re proud to have endured our personal and collective ups and downs to deliver the most honest album we could.”

With a fresh start, The Greenery is ready to unleash hell with It’s Looking Grim, an appropriate title for an album filled with such destructive force. The unyielding collection of some of the gnarliest metal-infused scuzz-punk around today features the new song “Reapers Keeper,” which was virtually made to break necks in the pit.

“We wanted to make a record that is very straight forward and to the point,” says Lanners. “No hidden meanings, no bullshit. I wanted to write about death as a character, and not as just an occurrence in life. This record really pushes Death in that sense of existence.”

The Greenery recently wrapped up performances at The Jamboree and New England Metal Fest and are currently on the road with To The Wind.

Keep up with The Greenery at www.facebook.com/TheGreeneryCA for news and information regarding the release date and pre-order for It’s Looking Grim.

Nations Afire To Release The Ghosts We Will Become

Yup, the guitars sound nice, the breakdown with the bass guitar coming forward sounds nice, vocals are tight, so what’s wrong with “I Am an Army“?

Melvins

As you well know, the Melvins are about to release Everybody Loves Sausages, which is an album of covers featuring songs by Queen, Roxy Music, and Venom. The album also features guests Mark Arm, Jello Biafra, JG Thirlwell, and Scott Kelly.

Buzz Osborne said,

“Has it really only been 30 years? “Dang! Thanks to everyone who’s been there for us! It’s been an exciting trip and I probably should have listened and learned more. I apologize for anything I’ve ever done wrong and for anything I’m going to do wrong… Ha!”

The Washington-based band formed in 1983 by Montesano High School classmates Osborne, Matt Lukin, and Mike Dillard. The legendary outfit experienced its first line-up shift soon thereafter as Lukin and Dillard left the band with drummer Dale Crover stepping in, leading to one of rock music’s longest running partnerships. In the intervening years the band, sometimes a trio and sometimes a quartet, has released over twenty studio albums, a dozen live records and innumerable singles and EPs. In 2012, they embarked on the epic 51 States in 51 days tour and have recently added Melvins Lite, a new incarnation of the band featuring stand-up bassist Trevor Dunn, with the 2012 release of Freak Puke.

The Melvins launch a month-long European tour today in France with both Melvins Lite and the traditional Melvins line-up performing at various dates (full details below). Other upcoming dates for the band include performances at Maryland Deathfest and Scion Rock Fest as well as trio of dates in Pennsylvania and Ohio.

On the offence Band

Not too long ago, we brought you two new tracks from On the Offense‘s new album, Frontline. The band has since released the album, and are streaming it in its entirety over at punknews.org.

If you’re craving something honest, raw, real, and hardcore, Frontline is something you need to check out. It’s basic, stripped down, in your face, and fuck you if you don’t like it. It’s always refreshing to hear something pure, and On the Offense’s Shonen (Drums), Rob Subs (Guitar), Mike (Bass), 6pack Jon (Guitar), and Sean (Vocals) deliver just that.

If you like what you hear, and you know you do, go ahead and buy the MP3 album for $8.99 at Amazon. If you want you can buy it at iTunes, or try your luck at one of the limited number of CDs at Dead City.

Streaming now on Altpress.com and AOL.com and available for purchase at iTunes, Amazon, Hardline Entertainment, and at local indie retailers, The Tipping Point showcases the band’s signature blend of skate punk and reggae fans have come to love, while pushing the boundaries of their songwriting and resulting in a fast-paced record that could arguably be their best yet.

Authority Zero will hit Europe this week for a month and a half long tour in support of The Tipping Point, before heading home to the U.S. for the 2013 Summer Sickness Tour.
