Just days before the launch of Just Cause 3, two hardcore gamers from PlayStation Access on YouTube released a new gameplay video, which gives us a deeper look at how large the map really is in the upcoming game. Just Cause 3 takes place on the island of Medici, featuring a 400-square mile map. A virtual helicopter tour from one end of the map to the other is shown entirely in the video clip above.
The map in Just Cause 3 isn’t necessarily larger than the one in the previous sequel, but will feel more “dense”, according to the games director.
Roland Lesterlin said,
Just Cause 2 was already enormous, we really wanted to focus now on density and the feel of the world itself. So we didn’t necessarily just have to do increased land mass. But we have certainly gone a lot bigger when it comes to density of the world. And now it’s not just on top of the world–we also have caves and tunnels and all sorts of stuff there, too.
Just Cause 3 launches on December 1 across PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
