It doesn’t get much more metal than this, at least by my humble opinion. Canadian metallers, 3 Inches of Blood have just released the video for “Leather Lord,” which comes off the band’s most recent album Long Live Heavy Metal. If they aren’t singing about every metalhead from the ’80s, then they’re singing about Rob Halford.
“Leather Lord” itself is a straight-ahead NWOBHM track with high-pitched vocals, some death vocals for good measure, a driving back beat, and, as I’ve said before, solid riffage. The video seems to be some sort of homage to Black Sabbath and ’60s-era (read: acid induced) effects going on. Worth a watch, though there are no scantily clad women as in 3 Inches last video for “Metal Woman.”
Vocalist Cam Pipes comments on the “Leather Lord” video:
“We are very proud to give you our latest music video. The ‘Leather Lord’ video is done in a way we’ve never attempted before but we are pleased with how it has turned out… Enjoy banging your head to our new video and Long Live the ‘Leather Lord’!”
