3 Inches Of Blood – “Storming Juno” Lyric Video

We loved 3 Inches of Blood‘s “Metal Woman,” which paid tribute to, well, the women of heavy metal. Now the Canadian metallers are paying tribute to their nation’s heroes with “Storming Juno.” The timing of this lyric video’s release, while obvious, couldn’t be better with Canada’s Memorial Day and the U.S.’ Veteran’s Day on the horizon.

In case you’re wondering, Juno Beach was one of five sectors of the Allied invasions during the World War II Normandy landings. The 3rd Canadian Infantry Division and commandos of the Royal Marines, all under the command of British I Corps, were responsible for taking Juno.

3 Inches of Blood has released a lyric video for their track “Storming Juno.” Taken from their most recent album, Long Live Heavy Metal, vocalist Cam Pipes explains how the song is a tribute anthem:

“Storming Juno is a tribute to the soldiers of the Canadian armed forces that got the first foothold for the allies on D-Day during World War II. Every November 11 we remember all who served, some who made the ultimate sacrifice, in service to their country. Releasing this lyric video is our way of acknowledging those who served our country and how proud we are of the significant contribution Canada had in fighting tyranny all those years ago.”

3 Inches of Blood has stayed on the road throughout 2012, continually supporting Long Live heavy Metal. Produced by Terry “Sho” Murray (City of Fire, DOA), the astounding 12-track achievement offers an explosion of sound, setting new standards for the traditional metal genre.

Next month, the heavy metal veterans will embark on a headlining West Coast run. The two-week trek will feature special guest Huntress as main support and Hookers as the tour opener. A list of confirmed dates can be seen below, with more to be announced shortly:
