The horror genre often makes me feel like I’m on the Satellite of Love, but without any funny robot friends. I’m just being subjected to these movies, with a good one coming out every once in a while. But usually, it’s just awful found footage movie after terrible 80’s slasher homage after half assed “Grindhouse” feature, and then repeat. That’s why I’m glad that stuff like Shock Til You Drop’s The 50 Best Horror Movies You’ve Never Seen exists, because without it, I’d go insane, and you’d find me, naked and withered on a couch, clutching a VHS copy of John Carpenter’s Halloween and whispering “Please, no more Cabin Fever films.”
Directed by Anthony Masi, and featuring a ton of actors, directors and writers (many of whom are talents that I respect, including Staci Layne Wilson and Brian Collins), The 50 Best Horror Movies You’ve Never Seen doesn’t really aim for the most obscure, as much as it aims for films that are really great, but just haven’t had the biggest reception. It hits VOD today, so you should go check it out. I’ve seen most of them, but I love to hear people that I like talking about things that I enjoy. Horror films and I have a very lame Linkin Park song relationship. We’re not good for each other, but it hurts so good, or something.
