Well, we’re late to the party, but we thought we’d post the new trailer (a new two-and-a-half-minute trailer!) for Star Wars: The Force Awakens anyway. It paints a pretty bleak picture of what’s in store for us, but it still looks pretty darn amazing, even if, just like the poster released on the same day, one particular character has been kept absent. Why?!? Are we being led to believe that Luke Skywalker might have strayed to the dark side? Even if we all think we know better, it might be a rad twist to make the iconic hero the villain.
But does all this make the trailer suck?
Because, as cool as it might seem, wouldn’t it just suck if Luke were to become the evil he fought so hard to defeat? Wouldn’t it suck to kick things off with a dark “second act” like The Empire Strikes Back? Especially if that might mean that Han and Leia get killed off right away?
Before you jump all over me, I’ll admit that I haven’t been keeping up with who’s who and what’s what because I want to experience it all with “my own eyes,” when it’s fresh.
