Good news folks! We have a new update on the release date for Shane Black’s upcoming Predator sequel.
According to recent reports, 20th Century Fox has bumped up the release for The Predator. Meaning the highly-anticipated sequel, not a reboot, is going to be released a month earlier than expected. Initially scheduled to hit theaters on March 2nd, 2018, the sci-fi action film is now slated for February 9th, 2018.
Black originally played Rick Hawkins in the 1987 Predator, yes the skinny commando with glasses, will now direct the sequel from a screenplay he co-wrote with longtime friend and partner Fred Dekker (Night of the Creeps, The Monster Squad). At the moment, plot details are unknown, but the idea of Arnold Schwarzenegger returning as Dutch from Predator is being rumored.
Black is best known for directorial effort, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, and for directing Iron Man 3, which had success at the box office. He currently has a new 1977-set film entitled The Nice Guys circulating in theaters, starring Russell Crowe and Ryan Gosling.
