When news of Lost in Atlantis‘ recent video “Zombie Love” landed in my mailbox I completely expected another horrorbilly band. To my surprise it wasn’t. What I got treated to instead was a pretty damn good electronic rock/metal track reminiscent of Marilyn Manson (sort of), circa 2000.
The video itself, directed by RSM Creative, brings a slight twist to the zombie mythology. Of course it starts out pretty much the same: some idiot steps out in front of a car full of girls on their way to a party. He dies, turns into a zombie, and ends up at the same party, where, coincidentally, Lost in Atlantis is performing. In the end, our zombie boy gets bit by a clone girl and he turns into a clone. Yes, two epidemics going on at the same time.
As small, well-deserving bands do in their infancy, Phoenix, Arizona’s Lost in Atlantis is currently on a high school tour across the West Coast promoting their sophomore album, Lover Freak. The Nothing Can Stop Us tour dates are listed below.
You can buy Lover Freak at Amazon: MP3 – $6.93 or CD – $9.98
Although Lost in Atlantis is a bit mainstream, they are a band to look out for, in much the same way that Halestorm was a few years back. Lost in Atlantis was handpicked to perform on the 2013 edition of the Vans Warped Tour by Kevin Lyman, the tour’s owner. That’s a pretty serious endorsement.
