GWAR heads out to war, and this time they’re loading the Scumship with soldiers who wave the Amon Amarth, Satyricon, and The Black Dahlia Murder flags. This run at world domination gets its start on the Australia Soundwave Festival, but no, five days on the festival tour isn’t enough for these hungry dogs; they had to pack in two more dates between Soundwave appearances.
Oderus Urungus had these sincere words to say about Soundwave:
The sickest, heaviest, most beastly bands of this year’s Soundwave will be joining forces to create the most hideous noise ever. It’s an amazing line-up and I fully expect to see mounds of flaming corpses where once stood smiling fans.
In other GWAR news that you probably heard about already, the most tasteless band in rock recently announced they would be bringing more of it! That’s right, the most disgusting spectacle in rock ‘n’ roll history is coming all the way from their homeland of Antarctica to the Land of the Rising Sun. After 28 years of relentless touring, getting lost, and other general mayhem, GWAR is finally playing Japan!
After playing the gigantic Soundwave Festival in Australia and a couple of special headline dates, GWAR will travel north to play two exclusive shows in Japan, where legions of GWAR fans have been waiting patiently for years for their chance to die in the presence of their hulking metal overlords. Their wishes shall at last come true on Thursday, March 6th, at Big Cat in Osaka, Japan, and Friday, March 7th, at Akasaka Blitz in Tokyo. Tickets are on sale now.
