Here is some good ol’ Evil Dead news to go nuts over today. I’m sure many of you have been waiting to get this detail for a very long time, and today’s news gives us exactly what we all want to hear.
Thanks to the STARZ network, Bruce Campbell has been selected to play Ash once again in an all-new Evil Dead series officially titled Ash Vs. Evil Dead. The series will consist of 10 half-hour episodes written by Sam Raimi, Ivan Raimi, and Tom Spezialy. Better yet, Sam is directing the first episode, so you can bet your ass the original series will remain in the same spirit as the cult movies.
In a press release, Bruce revealed that he is thrilled to be back as Ash and is ready to kick some monster butt.
I’m really excited to bring this series to the Evil Dead fans worldwide – it’s going to be everything they have been clamboring for: serious deadite ass-kicking and plenty of outrageous humor.
Ash Vs. Evil Dead will air on STARZ in 2015.
More about the series
Bruce Campbell will be reprising his role as Ash, the stock boy, aging lothario and chainsaw-handed monster hunter who has spent the last 30 years avoiding responsibility, maturity, and the terrors of the Evil Dead. When a Deadite plague threatens to destroy all of mankind, Ash is finally forced to face his demons – personal and literal. Destiny, it turns out, has no plans to release the unlikely hero from its “Evil” grip.
