With Bates Motel moving along extremely well in Season 3 and The Returned spooking audiences with the dead returning, A&E is clearly trying hard to retain and grow its horror community. A third horror series is definitely going to benefit the network and attract many more horror hounds.
The next one in development at A&E is an adaptation of John Ajvide Lindqvist’s Sweden-set vampire novel, Let the Right One In, which has already been adapted twice before. The original movie of the same name hit the film festival circuit in 2008, and an American remake freaked audiences out in 2010. A&E is now collaborating with Jeff Davis and Brandon Boyce to bring the vampire tale to TV in the near future. Both are currently set to pen the script.
If the series makes its way into production, A&E has plans to shoot the TV adaptation in Vermont.
About The Series
The drama follows the boy and the female vampire, who lives in secrecy with her mysterious guardian. When a series of strange murders pops up in their small Vermont town, it attracts the attention of a Federal Marshal with a mysterious past of his own.
