All Souls, the Los Angeles-based band featuring former members of Totimoshi (Meg Castellanos and Tony Aguilar), The Desert Sessions/Fatso Jetson (Tony Tornay), and Black Elk (Erik Trammell) are streaming “Sadist/Servant” via Revolver.
The track seems to fuse a middle eastern sound with a swampy blues sound, while at its midpoint takes on a Sgt. Pepper’s-era sound from The Beatles.
About the track featuring Danny Carey of Tool, Tornay said:
’Sadist/Servant’ never gets boring. It’s always in your face and never falls back in the pocket. Danny killed it. He’s playing this really aggressive instrument on the quietest part of the song.
The song comes from the band’s forthcoming, self-titled debut, which arrives February 9th, via Sunyata Records. Pre-orders for the nine-song release, which include an immediate download of both “Sadist/Servant” and “Never Know” are available now (digital and physical).
