by While at Amnesia Rockfest 2015, we had the terrifying pleasure of talking to Phil Langelier of the Montreal-based theatrical tech-death band Bookakee. The dude can talk, which is definitely a good thing; who needs a PR firm when you got Langelier? He’s also pretty “fucked up” — his words, not ours — with his “movie” interests, which is where he likely gets his inspiration for his FX. And we don’t agree with his point of view regarding thrash metal (seriously, isn’t that the best heavy metal genre?), but we do love his perspective on the hipster invasion into metal. Here’s an idea, at the next Bookakee show, fans should run through the crowd and abduct hipsters for execution on stage by Bookakee! Let the blood run red!
