It’s time to remind you again about Annabelle, there’s a sequel coming soon and the horror film has an official title attached to it as of Thursday.
Following new footage from Annabelle 2 shown at the SXSW Film Festival this month, New Line Cinema has decided to reveal the official title of the sequel via Facebook. From now on, the film is called Annabelle: Creation.
Several years after the tragic death of their little girl, a dollmaker and his wife welcome a nun and several girls from a shuttered orphanage into their home, soon becoming the target of the dollmaker’s possessed creation, Annabelle.
David F. Sandberg directs from a screenplay by Gary Dauberman, who also wrote Annabelle. The film stars Stephanie Sigman, Talitha Bateman, Lulu Wilson, Philippa Coulthard, Grace Fulton, Lou Lou Safran, Samara Lee, Tayler Buck in her feature film debut, with Anthony LaPaglia and Miranda Otto.
Annabelle: Creation is once again being produced by Peter Safran and James Wan, who also partnered so effectively on The Conjuring movies. It’s currently scheduled for release on August 11, 2017.
