SamuraiJack has become a thing of geek legend in a matter of a few short hours. How? Well the DeviantART.com member, after viewing the live-action Ant-Man test reel at the San Diego Comic-Con back in July, went to work to recreate the reel in storyboard format from memory – because the test reel was never released to the public.
Now, we have a nice little teaser for an action sequence that may become a reality. And the actual reel that was screened may see the light of day. Marvel executive Victoria Alonso has stated that “What we showed at Comic-Con was a work in progress. We’re working on finishing it, and I think you might see it.” We’ll see.
Although there’s only speculation that production may begin as early as next year, at least this test reel lets us know that writer/director Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz) and co-writer Joe Cornish are that much closer to making Ant-Man a reality. And aren’t we all glad that this is at least something different coming out of Holly-remake-Wood?
