There’s something that’s just extremely copacetic about punk rock and German themes, whether the band is German or simply an American band using German language or symbiology. There’s also something innately punk rock about America’s Midwest. When you combine those elements, German themes and the Midwest, you end up with something like the punk rock trio Ausländer.
Hailing from Grand Rapids, Michigan, Ausländer has released their self-titled debut, which can be purchased at: www.domesticgenociderecords.com
“Ausländer” is German for “outsider,” but Todd (guitar/vocals), Jon (bass/vocals), and Rob (drums/vocals) are anything but on the punk rock circuit, as the newly formed band features past and current members of Ten Second March and the Krabs. If you want a sample of their catchy punk hooks, check out the video below of the band performing a basement show in their hometown at Tip Top.
