Back in December, actor and filmmaker Ben Affleck said the script for the standalone Batman movie is on the right track and that everything is coming together. According to Affleck, he was “very excited” about the forthcoming Batman movie.
Now, in the New Year, it sounds like things may have shifted a bit. As of today, Affleck confirmed that there’s no script, which is quite the opposite of what he said in December.
In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Affleck also revealed that he’s still unsure if will be behind the camera for the movie.
Affleck said,
That’s the idea, but it’s not a set thing and there’s no script. If it doesn’t come together in a way I think is really great I’m not going to do it.
The movie is reportedly tentatively titled The Batman, which is targeted for release in summer 2018. In August, Affleck unleashed some early test footage of Deathstroke, who is confirmed as the main villain in the movie.
