Blade Runner 2049 Officially Receives An “R” Rating

It looks like Denis Villeneuve’s highly-anticipated sequel to Blade Runner is taking the same footsteps as Ridley Scott’s 1982 masterpiece.

According to Screen Rant, Blade Runner 2049 has officially received an “R” rating for “violence, some sexuality, nudity and language” from the Motion Picture Association of America. So fans of the first installment don’t have to worry about the film being too watered down for a larger audience. All the good stuff will definitely remain intact.

Thirty years after the events of the first film, a new blade runner, LAPD Officer K (Ryan Gosling), unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos. K’s discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former LAPD blade runner who has been missing for 30 years.

From executive producer Ridley Scott and director Denis Villeneuve, Blade Runner 2049 stars Ryan Gosling, Harrison Ford, Ana De Armas, MacKenzie Davis, Sylvia Hoeks, Lennie James, Carla Juri, Robin Wright, Dave Bautista and Jared Leto.

The film is slated for theaters and IMAX on October 6th, 2017.
