From the producers of The Strangers and Oculus (Trevor Macy, Marc D. Evans) comes The Bye Bye Man, which attempts to examine the evil behind the most unspeakable acts committed by man.
You don’t have to watch the 6 o’clock news for very long before you realize that we live in a horrible world that’s filled with the “evil that men do.” As we struggle to understand what makes us such a shitty species, we often point to violence in movies and video games, and sometimes to the influence of music (all scapegoats), as the root of our evil ways. But as The Bye Bye Man filmmakers ask, “what if all of the questions we’re asking are wrong? What if the source of all evil is not a matter of what… but who?”
I thought it was the devil, but I guess I was wrong!
In a lot of respects, The Bye Bye Man reminds me of Candyman, but that could just be me. Watch the trailer above and let us know what you think: does it look good? Does it resemble Candyman?
The Bye Bye Man Synopsis:
When three college friends stumble upon the horrific origins of the Bye Bye Man, they discover that there is only one way to avoid his curse: don’t think it, don’t say it. But once the Bye Bye Man gets inside your head, he takes control. Is there a way to survive his possession?
Directed by Stacy Title, and starring Carrie-Anne Moss, Faye Dunaway, Douglas Smith, Cressida Bonas, Lucien Laviscount, and Douglas Jones, The By Bye Man opens on June 3rd.
