The first sneak peek at the reimagining of Carrie will debut at the 2012 New York Comic Con on October 13th, but before that goes down we have a brand new piece of viral material that appears to be the first one for Carrie. This past Friday, the birth certificate of Carrietta White surfaced on the movie’s official Facebook fan page along with the following message:
“17 years ago today, Carrie White’s mother, Margaret White, gave birth to her daughter under circumstances which can only be termed bizarre.”
This clearly reveals the fact that Carrie was born on Friday, September 21, 1995, at 10:04 a.m. in the State of Maine, and that we missed her lonesome birthday party. Whether or not this posting was meaningful beyond the obvious, I’m just hoping this might be a hint that the filmmakers plan to show an early sequence of what happened to Carrie at her birth, as disturbing as that may be.
Kimberly Peirce is directing the new Carrie, which is based on the Stephen King novel. The new film stars Chloë Grace Moretz (Carrie) and Julianne Moore (Margaret).
Carrie is scheduled to hit theaters on March 15, 2013, in the U.S.
