Before Halloween kicks into overdrive on the 31st, there will be a good amount of horror releases coming out throughout the month like Nothing Left to Fear, Argento’s Dracula 3D, Machete Kills, The Devil’s Rapture, and Bad Milo, just to name a few. The remake of Carrie is also another to add to the list, which is actually the one that we’ve been looking forward to the most over the past few months. So far, we’ve seen everything from trailers to photos, including poster art, but we haven’t seen a bloody clip from the film yet. Until now!
A first clip from Carrie is circulating and landed in our pile of things to see today and it takes us all the way back to 1976. Yes! That’s the year the cult classic directed by Brian De Palma released in theaters and hit a critical and box office success in the United States. Why? Because the scene you’re about to watch is almost identical to original, expect Carrie White (Chloë Grace Moretz) is shoved into the closet by her mother. That’s one of the differences, and we see her unstable mother inflict pain to herself so she can suffer like her daughter.
Messed up right?
Carrie drops in theaters on October 18, 2013. But in the meantime, check out the clip above and make sure you follow our Halloween feature “31 Days of Scares” until the end of the month.
