UFC 167 is approaching fast that will feature a bout between Chael Sonnen (29–13–1) and Rashad Evans (20-3-1) in the co-main event of the evening in Las Vegas, Nevada. Oddly, at a recent presser in Manchester, England, Sonnen spent more time talking about his upcoming coaching gig opposite Wanderlei Silva on the next TUF: Brazil, having Anderson Silva as assistant coach, another rematch with Silva, and Jon Jones, just to name a few. There’s very little talk about his fight with Evans. My feeling is this one is sliding under the radar since the fight with Wanderlei is a lot more appealing to MMA fans in both the U.S. and Brazil.
But before that fight happens, Sonnen and Evans need to settle business first inside the Octagon. Both are coming off a win, Sonnen replaced Antônio Rogério Nogueira at UFC Fight Night 26, defeating Maurício Rua by guillotine choke submission in the first round. Evans had a less impressive win over Dan Henderson at UFC 161, winning by split decision.
Don’t miss their matchup at UFC 167 that will be held on November 16, 2013.
