I know there are a lot of people out there looking for patriotic music today. Who would think that some American patriotism would come from Sweden? But that’s the case. Just yesterday, Civil War started streaming their new single, “Gettysburg,” in honor of the battle’s 150th anniversary.
I think it’s a great song, even without the theme, but I can’t help but hear Klaus Meine from the Scorpions when Nils Patrik Johansson sings. “Gettysburg” comes from the new symphonic power metal band’s debut album, The Killer Angels, available now at Amazon for $8.99 (MP3).
Check it out and let us know what you think in the comments section below.
Civil War has commented on their new song:
“The Battle of Gettysburg. 150 years have passed since it took place, but still today it’s one of the greatest battles in history. This is a song that reflects the memories and thoughts of one single soldier. His name is unknown, maybe he never existed, but if he did, maybe this is what went through his mind. We give you the song, ‘Gettysburg.’”
