Dario Argento’s last film was far from his best, so it’s nice to see horror master Dario Argento move away from the Giallo subgenre to take on a reimagining of the classic vampire tale based on Bram Stoker’s famous novel. Dracula 3D is finally coming full steam ahead in the U.S. thanks to IFC Films’ acquisition of the rights last year. From my understanding, the Italian director’s bloody film drops before Halloween next month, and we’ve got a new trailer to share with you.
Dracula 3D is Argento’s first 3-D film. It will star Rutger Hauer (Van Helsing), Thomas Kretschmann (Dracula), Marta Gastini (Mina), Unax Ugalde (Harker), and Asia Argento (Lucy).
The film will be available on VOD, and run in a limited number of theaters on October 4, 2013. Check it out!
About Dracula 3D
Horror master Dario Argento returns with a bloody, luridly creepy 3D version of the classic vampire tale, drenched in gore and sex. An unsuspecting Englishman arrives in Transylvania, lured by a job with a local nobleman. But the undead Count Dracula’s real target is the man’s innocent young wife. Featuring the iconic Rutger Hauer as vampire hunter Van Helsing and the inimitable Asia Argento (the director’s own daughter) as a local all-too-eager to fall under the Count’s sway.
