The first official trailer for Deliver Us From Evil aka Beware the Night has crash landed today, which is an action-crime horror film directed by Scott Derrickson starring Eric Bana, Edgar Ramirez, Olivia Munn, Sean Harris and Joel McHale.
So far, I really dig the name of the film and the story sounds pretty damn intriguing too, but after viewing the trailer, I felt I got a dose of Insidious. Deliver Us From Evil has a similar vibe and it appears to use the same jump-scare formula. Of course, the story is completely apart, but why not match them up. My question now is, which film feels scarier, Insidious or Deliver Us From Evil based on the trailer above?

Deliver Us From Evil
In DELIVER US FROM EVIL, New York police officer Ralph Sarchie (Eric Bana), struggling with his own personal issues, begins investigating a series of disturbing and inexplicable crimes. He joins forces with an unconventional priest (Edgar Ramirez), schooled in the rituals of exorcism, to combat the frightening and demonic possessions that are terrorizing their city. Based upon the book, which details Sarchie’s bone-chilling real-life cases.
