E3 2017: Hideo Kojima Confirms Death Stranding Won’t Be Presented

Those of you looking forward to seeing more footage from Hideo Kojima upcoming open-world action game will be disappointed to hear Death Stranding is off of E3 this month.

With E3 just around the corner, an annual event which takes place between June 13 and 15, Kojima confirmed that Death Stranding won’t be showcased after all. According to the popular video game director, development has taken priority over any new footage.

Kojima apologized via Twitter earlier on Wednesday. To keep his loyal fans excited for his highly-anticipated game, he revealed a brand new poster featuring the game title, a star-shaped spiderweb, and the word “Bridges.”

Actors Norman Reedus and Mads Mikkelsen, as well as director Guillermo del Toro, are all portrayed in-game via motion capture. The game’s title is a reference to the cetacean stranding phenomenon.

Death Stranding will be released sometime prior to 2019.
