Horror fans have been lining up like there’s no tomorrow at Fantasia 2012 to catch some of the most bizarre and unconventional genre films around, like Manborg, Gyo: Tokyo Fish Attack, Sushi Girl, and Zombie Ass just to name a few out of the many screenings. Regardless of all the heat and humidity the human body can endure, the Fantasia fanatics are truly one of a kind!
After catching a film at the festival on Friday, we headed down with Joanna Jaguar and Evil Argento to the “If They Came From Within: An Alternative History of Canadian Horror Movies” art show. It’s a fake horror movie poster exhibition hosted by Rue Morgue magazine Editor in Chief Dave Alexander. Although we only managed to capture the essence of the show, and not the atmosphere, we urge you to step out of the house next time and check it out. Because you know, without a few glasses of free wine, a guest appearance by Michael Biehn, and being surrounded by some of the most talented Canadian artists, it’s just not the same!
So here they are! The fake horror movie posters showcased to the public that evening. Let’s start off below with Caprice, a collaboration between film director Jason Eisener (Hobo with a Shotgun) and renowned designer James White.
