Final Conflict are among the most pivotal and most influential hardcore punk bands ever to play a note of noise. Influenced by British punk and heavy metal, Final Conflict is one of the first bands to bring together those two worlds successfully.
Formed in 1983, Final Conflict released their debut album, Ashes to Ashes, in 1988, under the Pushead’s Pusmort Records’ flag. But this Tankcrimes Records reissue of the seminal hardcore punk album isn’t the first either; it was reissued by Relapse Records in 1994 (no doubt trying to capitalize on the shift to simpler the music in grunge).
The new reissue will be released on vinyl and double CD. The CD includes the 1985 demo on the bonuse disc, and the vinyl includes a 12″ x 12″ 24-page book with lyrics, photos, flyers, commentary and more plus a foldout poster. The first pressing comes on in three color schemes: splatter (mailorder exclusive), red and black wax.
