Beside all the fuss about changing 10-once gloves to 8-ounce, boxing great Floyd “Money” Mayweather recently revealed how much he expects to make in his crossover superfight with two-division champion Conor McGregor.
In a video TMZ obtained on Wednesday, Mayweather explained that he doesn’t need a four – or five-year contract to make a three figure paycheck. In fact, all he needs is one night to make $300 million — or more — in the 12-round boxing bout with McGregor.
Mayweather said,
I can do it in 36 minutes — 300 or better in 36 minutes. We’re just being real. Like I said before, I’m not hurting. I’m far from hurting. … I got paper. They talking about Mayweather this and Mayweather that, I’m not hurting. I got mine. I can’t say what the UFC is paying [McGregor], but every month I make millions, so they talk about it, I be about it. I really got it. Y’all not gonna make this in a lifetime.
Before Mayweather came out of retirement to fight McGregor, the undefeated boxer reportedly earned more than $200 million in his highly-anticipated matchup with Manny Pacquiao in 2015. Mayweather also isn’t afraid to remind everyone he is the highest paid athlete in the world.
He added,
Before we can speak on Floyd Mayweather and speak on, ‘Oh, Floyd Mayweather, he done this and he done that,’ and what he can and what he can’t do, I mean, am I the highest paid athlete out there? And just coming back.
Mayweather vs. McGregor takes place this month on August 26 in Las Vegas.
