It’s hard to compete with Universal’s Frankenstein, Mel Brook’s Young Frankenstein, or even what’s going on in John Logan’s Penny Dreadful, and it’s doubtful that Emil J. Novak’s Frankenstein’s Patchwork Monster is going give any Frankenstein movie a run for its money. The most interesting thing about this movie, at least judging from the teaser trailer, is the score, which is reminiscent of Old Time Radio, such as that heard on Dragnet.
Of course, you’re innocent until proven guilty (unless you’re Bill Cosby), so Frankenstein’s Patchwork Monster might not be half bad; it is claiming to be a steampunk horror film, afterall. I’m not betting for any pink slips though.
