Here is a small list of tees you should consider for your wardrobe, if you are a fan of some of the most influential horror movies of our time.
Critters (Horror T-Shirt)
How can you not want to own a “Krites” T-Shirt? Remember that’s how the bounty hunters labeled the hungry little fury creatures? The ’80s had some of the coolest yet cheesiest B-movie horror classics that have since gained a cult following spanning over decades. Critters is a pure gem among some of our favorite ’80s horror films including Ghoulies, Puppetmaster, and Basket Case, to name a few. The story is simple with appealing characters (especiallly the young boy played by Scott Grimes), and it actually has decent special effects. Order Online
Silent Night Deadly Night (Horror T-Shirt)
Sure, we all know that Friday the 13th and Halloween are among the best ’80s slasher films, but what about a story of a tormented teenager struggling with the death of his parents and turns into a maniac killer dressed up as Santa? Isn’t that idea demented enough, considering it’s a time of year that brings families together? That’s why you should consider a Silent Night Deadly Night T-shirt, you might just be the coolest kid on the block if you wear it during Christmas. Order Online
Maximum Overdrive (Horror T-Shirt)
Did you know that Stephen King is one of the most imaginative horror writers around, and that nearly all of his books have been turned into a movie? I hope you are sensing a little sarcasm. The guy obviously screams success when it comes to horror. Here is something you might not have known: Maximum Overdrive is the only movie he wrote and also directed. Stephen King wanted to direct this movie because after writing a few, he wanted to see Stephen King done right. “If you want it done right, you have to do it yourself.” AC/DC supplied the soundtrack that was selected by King himself. Dr. Ackula (Horror T-Shirt)
If you are a true horror fan, then you need to add this classic to your wardrobe. With this “Dr. Ackula” T-shirt you will shine among your poser friends as the real deal, and you might be able to touch base with some older folks (if they’re still around) on some monster movie classics. Do yourself a favor and add this vintage-looking tee to your collection. Order Online
Killdozer (Horror T-Shirt)
Six men… playing a deadly game of cat and mouse… with a machine that wants to kill them. Doesn’t that sound like a perfect plot for an exploitation movie? Killdozer was made for TV, and it scared the shit out of children when it originally aired in 1974. If America wants to do a remake on Killdozer, call on Jason Eisener for this project, who recently made Hobo with a Shotgun. Order Online
Lucio Fulci’s Zombie 2 (Horror T-Shirt)
Zombie 2 is the most famous contribution of this genre by the Italians, although it isn’t the goriest one if that’s what you are looking for. Zombie 2 has plenty of entertaining moments like the zombie versus shark scene, but the most notorious scene in my opinion is the eyeball-meets-splinter scene. Why is it called Zombie 2, if you asked yourself this before? When George Romero released Dawn of the Dead in Italy, it was named Zombie. So they renamed the movie to Zombie 2 to cash in on Romero’s movie. The two movies have no relation whatsoever. Order Online
Killer Klowns From Outer Space (Horror T-Shirt)
In Space No One Can Eat Ice Cream! Killer Klowns From Outer Space is by far one my favorite horror/sci-fi movie from the late ’80s. I just love the idea of aliens who look like clowns that come from outer space to terrorize a small town. The movie itself is very humorous to watch, but can be pretty graphic to sensitive viewers. They say it isn’t suitable for children, but I’m so glad my folks didn’t have any constraints on what I could and couldn’t watch when I was a little snot-nosed brat. Some of the clowns look silly and frightening at the same time, due to great makeup. To this day, Killer Klowns From Outer Space still has a strong cult following. Overall, if you can bare 90 minutes of pure cheese and some laughter to go along with it, make sure this movie is next inline on your schedule for movies to watch. Order Online
The Thing (Horror T-Shirt)
The Thing along with Halloween and Escape From New York are among the best movies John Carpenter has directed to this day. Aside from the great special effects created by Rob Bottin and the atmosphere in the movie, I strongly believe that CGI will not do justice in the upcoming prequel (October 2011). Sure, it will star the sexy Mary Elizabeth Winstead, who’s best known for Scott Pilgrim vs. the World and Quentin Tarantino’s Death Proof. I still ask myself today, how will her character compare to MacReady (Kurt Russell), who carried us through the entire movie for the thrill ride? One thing is for sure, is that director Matthijs van Heijningen Jr. will reference every important detail to John Carpenter’s The Thing. The ending of the movie still leaves me wondering after so many years whether Childs (Keith David) is infected or not. Order Online
Street Trash (Horror T-Shirt)
Another horror/comedy coming out of the late ‘80s, and this one is called Street Trash. I’ll be honest with you, I haven’t seen it yet but from the cover art it looks pretty twisted. Story goes along the line of a liquor store owner who finds a case of “Viper” in his cellar. He decides to sell it to the local hobos. Apparently, whoever drinks the unknown substance will melt into a bloody mess. What a way to go, right? The hobos are up against the toxic brew, as well as a Vietnam vet called “Bronson” who’s a psychopath, and the owner of the junkyard they live in. The story sounds pretty promising and if you have a chance to watch it, let us know your thoughts. Order Online
Peter Jackson’s Dead Alive (Horror T-Shirt)
Peter Jackson’s Dead Alive also known as Braindead is consider one of the bloodiest all time horror movie made in terms of the amount of blood used during production. Considering just the famous mower scene, 5 gallons of fake blood was pumped out per second, and 300 liters was used in the final scene of the movie. That still marks an impressive consumption of fake blood to this day. At the time of its video release, rental shops in Sweden and surrounding countries in Europe offered supplemental vomit bags. If you haven’t seen Dead Alive, ask yourself if your stomach up for a gruesome challenge? Order Online
