I know me and King Hazard are gonna keep at each other on this one, especially when he stated “Enough said, so lets bury this rumor for good now” at the top of my last post about Carrie Fisher.
But, the latest reports indicate that George Lucas has let it leak that Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill will be joining Harrison Ford in the cast for Star Wars Episode VII.
What did Lucas let slip to Bloomberg Businessweek?
“We had already signed Mark and Carrie and Harrison — or we were pretty much in final stages of negotiation. So I called them to say, ‘Look, this is what’s going on.'”
Later, Lucas tried to swallow some of those words,
“Maybe I’m not supposed to say that. I think they want to announce that with some big whoop-de-do, but we were negotiating with them… I won’t say whether the negotiations were successful or not.”
So, all three actors have confirmed their involvement, then two of them have publicists come forward to retract the actors’ statement in vague terms. Now, Lucas let’s the cat out of the bag and tries to “non-confirm” things again. Sounds like this is all a part of Disney’s publicity machine to keep us guessing and talking.
We’ll try to keep you as enlightened as possible, but we may end up just posting some of this rumor-mill crap on our Facebook page.
