Based on the internationally-acclaimed sci-fi property of the same name, the first live-action version of Ghost of in the Shell starring Scarlett Johansson is less than two months away from hitting theaters worldwide.
With the release coming up real soon, Paramount Pictures has an unleashed a new trailer for the film. Which gives fans a closer look at Major Motoko Kusanagi (Johansson), a synthetic “full-body prosthesis” augmented-cybernetic human employed as the field commander of Public Security Section 9, with a mysterious past that she is trying to remember.
Devoted to stopping the most dangerous criminals and extremists, Section 9 is faced with an enemy whose singular goal is to wipe out Hanka Robotic’s advancements in cyber technology.
The upcoming film was directed by Rupert Sanders from a screenplay written by Jamie Moss. Ghost in the Shell also stars Pilou Asbæk, Takeshi Kitano, Michael Pitt, and Juliette Binoche. It’s currently slated for March 31st.
