Gone Is Gone’s “Starlight” Is Gorgeous

Members of Mastodon, Queens of the Stone Age, and At the Drive-In have formed a supergroup called Gone Is Gone, and it’s definitely for fans of ‘80s/’90s era new wave goth (think The Cure). Troy Sanders (Mastodon), Troy Van Leeuwen (QOTSA), Tony Hajjar (At the Drive-In), and Mike Zarin have shared another new song from their debut self-titled EP, “Starlight,” and it’s really freakin’ good. Watch it in the player above.

The self-titled debut EP is scheduled for release on July 8th.

Gone Is Gone made its live debut on April 27th, at the Dragonfly in Los Angeles.

More About Gone Is Gone:

What was once thought a distant idea, is now reality. It began when members Tony Hajjar and Mike Zarin were writing music for film trailers and they realized they had created a sound that needed a life outside of that medium. It needed a band. Fast-forward through some phone calls and drinks: Troy Van Leeuwen was in. The trio met and wrote an EP within the first several sessions, but were still in need of the right vocalist. Upon first listen, Troy Sanders understood the vision and flew to Los Angeles to write and record vocals on the spot.
