California hard rock/heavy metal band, Heat of Damage, has released the official music video for “The Gift,” the debut single off of their upcoming sophomore LP, due out next year. The video was shot and directed by Ethan Parilla of Atrocious Works Productions.
The track itself kicks open with a riff and a beat that had me thinking Godsmack, and the bassline sounded a bit like Korn. And I thought, this is pretty good. I admit, I wasn’t expecting the metalcore vocals that open the song, but was pleased when the clean vocals were released. Truthfully, vocalist David Haug has a pretty unique sounding singing voice when singing cleans, something I personally think he and the band should capitalize on more.
