The word is officially out! The infamous Cenobites are back, but this time hell will be unleashed in a Hellraiser TV series. That’s right! Pinhead will make his small screen debut in the very near future thanks to a deal gone really well.
According to online sources, Roy Lee (IT) and Dan Farah (Ready Player One) will produce the new horror series with the help of Lawrence Kuppin, David Salzman and Eric Gardner, who bought the TV rights from New World in 1989.
The intention is to use the mythology established in the movie franchise and the Clive Barker novella The Hellbound Heart as a launch pad for a new series that could be anthology, or a more traditional narrative.
A showrunner has not been announced yet, but early stages of development has already begun for those interested to know. A network or streaming service who will host the Hellraiser series is still unknown as well.
In addition to this project, David S. Goyer is in the process of producing and writing a Hellraiser reboot/reimagining for Spy Glass Media Group. However, both projects are completely unrelated.
That’s your dose on Hellraiser today! Are you thrilled or what?
