Ian Watkins of Lostprophets was sentenced to 29 years in prison plus 6 years of probation last week for his disturbingly inhumane crimes. We ran down the list of his crimes last month, and we don’t really care to revisit them, but for the purposes of this piece, Watkins pleaded guilty to 13 offenses, which includes 2 counts of attempted rape and 1 count of sexual assault of a child under 13, 3 counts of sexual assault involving children, 6 counts taking, making, and possessing indecent images of children, and 1 act possessing a pornographic image involving a sex act on an animal.
If things couldn’t get worse than that, and I’m sure they do, Watkins had relationships with two women and both of them offered up their newborn babies for Watkins to use for sexual purposes.
Watkins won’t be eligible for parole until he has served two-thirds of his sentence.
