Hey, Yellers! We had the privilege of talking to frontwoman Candace Kucsulain of Walls of Jericho at Amnesia Rockfest 2015. We got into some heavy subject matter, including her’s and Walls’ involvement with Relentless, an organization that helps kids with cancer. Although that bit wasn’t included in the final cut of our interview, there’s still plenty of information to sink your teeth into.
Formed in 1998, Walls of Jericho helped pave the way for metallic hardcore and for female-fronted bands, sans gimmicks or trying to capitalize on sexuality. Actually, Walls was the very opposite of that, as Candace always has a social issue to address. And from her point of view, as you’ll hear in the interview above, she’s just a woman in a band with something to say; it’s what she does. From our point of view, she does it extremely well and she has some of the best pipes in the industry.
Despite letting several years pass since their last album, Walls sounds as relevant as ever. However, we asked and Candace let us know that work on a new album is in progress! So get ready for some more intense raw energy from this Motor City hardcore band!
