Early on, when the first announcement was made about the RoboCop reboot slated for 2014, I predicted that the release date would be pushed back due to production issues on the set of the film because rumors already indicated there was creative differences between director José Padilha, and the studio.
Whether those rumors are true, or not. Some major changes has been made in regard of the look of the RC-2000, since it now appears that a new suit was leaked by a RoboCop crewmember via Twitter with the following message:
“The whole film he will wear that one… That’s the new slick design.”
Now, if those rumors were true then could this be one of the creative differences Padilha was talking about in a interview? All I know is that the first suit that was revealed is terrible in comparison to this new one, and I sure hope this will be the official RC-2000, or more so similar to it.
Check it out below, and also have a look at some of the new concept art in the picture gallery above.
What Joel Kinnaman said about the suit
“It’s not going to be jaw action. They’re still working on the suit and how it’s going to look, but the visor is going to be see-through. You’re going to see his eyes.”
“There’s not going to be any twitchy robot [he mimics very mechanical robotic moves]. Our vision of how a robot is going to be in 2046, it’s going toThe be a very human skin, it’s gonna look very human. I’m going to be able to put my signature on the body language, too….from an acting standpoint, walking around just moving your jaw, it’s not so interesting. So this is going to be an opportunity to really bring a full performance to it.”
