At Fantasia 2013 we had the distinct pleasure of talking to one of horror’s cult favorite – Troma’s Lloyd Kaufman and Catherine Corcoran. Among the topics of discussion was the world premiere of Return to Nuke ‘Em High, Vol. 1, written and directed by Kaufman himself and starring Corcoran.
If you haven’t seen the film and you love Class of Nuke ‘Em High, then you’re missing out… on literal tons of penis, green ooze, and a true social commentary.
The movie has moved on and it’s now a bonafide Troma classic on a limited theatrical run in New York and Los Angeles from January 10th through January 17th and coming to Blu-ray and DVD on March 18th.
Kaufman is a talkative man with a quirky sense of humor, which makes for a somewhat tough interview (we knew this from our previous Kaufman interview), but when you add his film’s beautiful star who’s just as talkative and in full-on Troma mode, then you have to do what I had to do, which is basically scrap the questions I’d prepared. After asking one question, the two of them addressed just about every question I had. As you watch the interview, I think you’ll understand what I’m talking about.
Kaufman and Corcoran were extremely warm and welcoming and the interview turned out great. There are a lot of little nuggets of knowledge and trivia buried in there, so keep a sharp ear. Enjoy the interview — and watch Return to Nuke ‘Em High, Volume 1.
