On its opening weekend in January, Mama grossed $28.1 million across 2,647 theaters, earning the #1 spot in its debut. I personally haven’t seen it yet, but if the original short captured the attention of Guillermo del Toro, who was the executive producer on the feature film. You just can’t really gone wrong with Mama, if you’re into old school scares over cheap gore.
