2016 is kicking off to be a killer year for MMA fight cards. Two weeks ago, the UFC announced Anderson Silva will meet Michael Bisping inside the cage at UFC Fight Night 83 in February. Now, it looks like UFC 197 is quickly coming into fruition with two high-profile titles on the line.
According to MMA Fighting, it sounds like the Irish sensation Conor McGregor is moving up to lightweight and will challenge Rafael dos Anjos for the title in the main event of UFC 197 on March 5 in Las Vegas, Nevada. In addition, confirmed sources are also saying Holly Holm will make her first bantamweight title defense against former STRIKEFORE champion Miesha Tate in the co-main event.
The UFC has made an official announcement nor has confirmed the fights mentioned above, which were originally reported by Lance, a Brazilian outlet, and Bleacher Report’s Jeremy Botter.
