Those of you have been naughty this year are in luck, but next year you better watch out for Krampus, because he is coming to town. That’s right, horror hounds! Krampus, the ancient legend of a pagan demon who punishes the wicked during the Christmas season has a horror-comedy based on him in the works and it’s due out on December 4, 2015, from Universal Pictures. That means you have a few more days to wreak havoc before we hit the New Year folks.
Written and directed by Michael Dougherty (Trick ’r Treat), Krampus is the second Christmas horror movie based on the legend to recently get green lit alongside Kevin Smith’s Anti-Claus, which is also due out next year. Krampus stars Allison Tolman (FX’ Fargo) and Emjay Anthony (Chef), the duo will play “a mother and son who must defend their home from the malevolent monster, with Anthony in particular having to dig deep in a heroic role.” This darkly festive tale of the yuletide ghoul is produced by Legendary Pictures’ Thomas Tull, Jon Jashni, and Alex Garcia.
